1. You have paid your bills on time

You have paid your bills on time and currently do not have any overdue accounts or derogatory information, such as a collection, charge-off, or bankruptcy, on your report.

2. You have a low balance-to-limit ratio

You have a good cushion of available credit between your current balance and your credit limits on all open trades. This has a positive affect on your credit score. This cushion shows lenders that you are unlikely to overextend yourself financially.

3. You have two or more major credit cards open

You have at least 2 or more open major credit cards, such as Discover, American Express, VISA, or MasterCard, on your credit report. This often tells lenders that you are a responsible borrower and they may be more likely to see you as a good credit risk and extend you credit.

4. You have no public records

Your credit report does not contain negative public records, such as a bankruptcy, lien, lawsuit or judgment filed within the last two years. This is having a positive impact on your credit score. Public record items may remain on your credit report for 7 to 15 years, depending on the item.

5. You have a high credit limit

Your average credit limit for your major credit cards, such as Discover, American Express, VISA, or MasterCard, is high. This tells lenders that you have enough financial experience, and they will be more likely to see you as a good credit risk.

6. You have a short length of credit history

On average, many of your accounts have been open less than 3 years. Having long term credit accounts that you consistently pay on time is an important indicator of stability to lenders.

7. You have too many recent hard inquiries

Each time a potential lender or landlord pulls your credit report for review, an inquiry is placed on your file. Inquiries stay on your credit report for up to 2 years. Having several inquiries on your credit report is negatively affecting your score. They are not necessarily negative information, but too many inquiries may indicate to lenders that you are trying to take on more new debt or possibly overextending yourself.

Johan, goede info, dank daarvoor!

Frequently Asked Questions

Alerts
What are monitoring alerts?
Your Experian®, Equifax®, and TransUnion® Credit Reports are monitored daily to see if key information has changed or if new data has been added. You will receive a monitoring alert if key changes are detected on your reports. That way, you may be able to identify fraudulent activity early in cases where credit activity is unfamiliar or unauthorized. A no activity reported email will be sent when no key changes have been posted to any of your 3 national credit reports in the past month.
How do I get my monitoring alerts?
As a CreditSecure member, all 3 of your national credit reports will be monitored on a daily basis. When key changes are detected, you will receive alert by email.
When will I receive my first daily monitoring alerts?
If you are a new member, please note that it may take up to five to seven days from the date you ordered to be enrolled in the daily monitoring system.
Why did I only get alerts for one or two of the bureaus instead of all three?
It can take up to five to seven days for you to begin receiving alerts of key changes to your credit reports from all three national credit bureaus. Each bureau will process your enrollment independently, so processing times may vary among the three bureaus.
Which bureau's credit report does it monitor?
CreditSecure monitors your Experian®, Equifax® and TransUnion® credit reports. You will be notified if key changes are detected on any of your three credit reports with email alerts. You'll know about new derogatory information, recent inquiries into your credit.
How do I cancel my membership?
If for any reason you are not satisfied, you can cancel anytime to discontinue your membership and stop the monthly billing. However, you will not be eligible for a prorated refund of any portion of your current month's paid membership fee. To cancel, please contact Customer Care at 1-866-617-1893 or by email.

3-Bureau Credit Report & Score
How is a 3-bureau credit report different from a single-bureau credit report?
The 3-bureau report includes your credit reports from all three national credit bureaus - Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. A single-bureau report contains your information on file at one of those three bureaus.
Why would my credit information and score differ among the 3 bureaus?
When creditors report information to the credit bureaus, they can choose which bureau(s) they want to report to. Some report to only one, whereas many report to all three. When a creditor chooses only to report to one or two of the bureaus, the remaining bureau(s) will not have access to, and therefore will not include, that account information in your report. For that reason, your scores may differ among your reports.
Why is it important to check my credit report & credit score at all 3 bureaus?
When creditors, landlords, and potential employers check your credit history, they can pull your credit report and credit score from any bureau(s). Some only check one bureau; some check all three. By checking all three yourself, you'll be prepared no matter which bureau(s) they go to.
Where can I find out how to read my CreditSecure 3-bureau credit report & score?
Please read the Report Key for the 3-Bureau Online Credit Report.
I wasn't able to receive my 3-bureau credit report & score or the transaction failed. Was I charged?
No, we don't charge your card unless your 3-Bureau Online Credit Report is delivered. We will not charge your card if:

    * (a) we are unable to process your request;
    * (b) you do not pass our authentication process;
    * (c) any of the three national credit bureau systems are down.

Please note that when you complete the order process, your American Express® card may be authorized for a charge, but that does not mean that it has been charged.
How long does it take to get my 3-bureau credit report & score?
After you pass the online authentication process, you will generally receive your online credit report and score within 30 seconds. However, if your identity cannot be successfully verified, you will receive instructions for further verification.
Why didn't I get my online credit report?
Although online credit reports are usually delivered to customers within seconds, there are some instances that may cause delays or make it impossible to do so. These include:

    * When we are not able to verify your identity. For your security, we only deliver your credit report when you pass our online identity verification process.
    * When we are experiencing a technical issue.
    * When the credit bureau does not return a credit report.

Sometimes the bureau does not have enough information to create a credit file for you. Please note, that we don't charge your credit card until we deliver your credit report. If we are unable to process your request, we will not charge you.
How long will my 3-bureau credit report be available?
Your report is available online up to 30 days after it is delivered. It's a good idea to print a copy for your records when you first view it.
Who do I call with questions about my Credit Report & Score?
For general questions about your score report, please contact us toll-free at: 1-866-617-1893. For billing or technical questions, please contact us toll-free at: 1-866-617-1893.
What is a credit score?
A credit score is calculated based on information contained in your credit report and often ranges from 330 to 830. A higher score may indicate lower credit risk to lenders. Your CreditSecure membership provides you with tools and resources designed to help you understand what factors can impact your credit.
I wasn't able to receive my score. Was I charged?
No, we don't charge your card unless we can authenticate you and deliver your report. If we are unable to process your request, we will not charge you. Please note that when you complete our order process, your American Express® card may be authorized for a charge, but that does not mean that it has been charged.

Dispute Information
How do I dispute inaccurate information on my credit report?
First, determine if the inaccurate information is creditor-related or bureau-related. If you believe it to be bureau-related, contact the bureau in question.
How do I contact a creditor to learn more about a specific account on my credit report?
There are four steps:

    * Obtain a copy of your credit report
    * Locate the appropriate section of your report (Public Records, Credit Inquiries, Account History) that is in question
    * Locate the creditor contact information highlighted in yellow
    * Call or write the creditor directly to resolve your question

It´s always a good idea to address any specific account-related questions directly with the creditor - and, if successful, you should see the resolved creditor information on any new credit reports within 30-60 days.
Why do some creditors show “Credit information requested data not available” on my credit report?
This information was requested from the credit bureau; however the bureau was unable to return any contact information for this creditor. You may have to locate the creditor information through other means, such as telephone directory assistance or Internet online search. We can also help you dispute an item through our online dispute process. Please refer to our Dispute page and follow the steps.
Where is the creditor information listed on my credit report and alerts page?
You´ll find it conveniently located near the top of each creditor-related section, just to the right of the name of each business or creditor.

General Questions
Will ordering my credit appear as an inquiry on my credit report?

Anytime your credit report is pulled - including when you order a copy of your credit report directly from the credit bureau - an inquiry is added to your report. Only some of those inquiries appear to creditors and therefore impact your credit score. Inquiries that were made for credit cards or loans for which you applied will be shown to creditors. Inquiries added when you request a copy of your credit report or when an employer checks your credit report do not appear to creditors. We are pulling your credit report on your behalf, so the inquiry on your credit report will not be shown to creditors and will not affect your credit score.

However, all inquiries will be displayed on copies of your credit file disclosure that you order directly from the credit bureaus' consumer assistance centers. This is done so you know who has been looking at your credit. Some inquiries on your report are accompanied by a description of why the report was pulled.
I don't have an American Express® card. Can I still purchase an online credit report?
Currently, we only accept American Express card payments. Our system is not set up to accept checks or cash at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.
What is the refund policy if the transaction fails?
We don't charge your card unless you get your credit report or you complete the request. If we are unable to process your request, we will not charge your card. Please note that when you complete the order process, your credit card may be authorized for a charge, but that does not mean that it has been charged.
Where is my report?
You may view the status of your orders by logging into My Credit Center.
Will my spouse's name and information appear on my report?
The credit reporting companies maintain credit files on individual U.S. residents only. They do not maintain joint files for spouses. Only accounts that are in both your names, or those for which you are an authorized user, will show up on your report. Therefore, your credit report is separate and different from your spouse's.
How do I dispute possible inaccuracies on my credit report?

Experian wants your credit information to be as accurate as possible. If you have reviewed your credit report and believe that the information is inaccurate, you can dispute it online for the fastest resolution. To access online disputes with Experian, go to a current online copy of your credit report and click on the link "Click here for Experian Online Dispute" located near the item you believe is inaccurate.

To request an investigation into information you don't agree with on your Equifax or TransUnion credit report, you should write directly to the bureau that supplied the information. For details, please see the Dispute Information page located in the My Credit Center area.
