"Hot off the needle" should probably be "Hot off the presses"; I think Clinton is, just like any other presidential candidate, calculated in his/her response to whatever audience he/she caters to. And the GOP is great at flip-flopping all over the place (McCain and Romney being the current best examples). Other GOP candidates are absolutely way out of touch with the country as a whole (Brownback from KS or Huckabee (who is bizarrly playing up, "I'm from hickville, USA and am so freaking down to Earth, you just gotta elect me!!!") from AR.
I have no problem with Obama or the possible fact that he may have been a muslim in the past, if one's familiar with the bible, then one knows the story of Ruth, she also was considered a non-follower of God (Ruth's story pre-dates Christianity), but would soon become a follower of God (and therefore absolutely acceptable, so much so, that she has her own book as part of the Old Testament). It's silly to equate Obama in a round-about way with nazi's, etc., especially since we didn't do this with Presidential candidate G.W. Bush in 2000 whose grandfather (Prescott Bush along with the Harrimans) had business-dealings with the Nazi-party in Germany. I didn't judge G.W. Bush in 2000 for his grandfather's actions, I judged him for his dirty politics (Rove) and ineffective tenure as governor in my home-state of Texas.
It would be sad to judge Obama on his faith or what his faith at some point might have been, it's very unchristian to do so anyways...
