Two miners missing, feared trapped
Mine officials look at a map while discussing the search for two missing miners.Rescue teams are searching a West Virginia coal mine for two miners believed trapped inside after they were separated from their crew after a fire was reported, officials said. The crew of 12 started out of the mine within minutes, encountering smoke on the way, an official said. Two crew members apparently became separated from the others. Company employees went into the mine and found "evidence of a fire" on a belt drive, said said Doug Conaway, director of the West Virginia Office of Miner's Health, Safety and Training.
