I just read through the instructions for the Green Card Lottery. I'm quite concerned out the digital photo's, does anyone have experience with this as to recommend the best way to do this? Would it be advisable to have the pictures done professionally? The last time that I participated was when you had to send the application with pass-fotos  via the regular mail!!!!
Please let me know as soon as possible! Thanks

I usually visit a professional photographer to make digital passport photos. I ask them to put my pictures on a CD-disk so I'm able to cut out a format required for the lottery myself (on a computer). It's also nice to have those professional pictures on your computer because they can be printed over and over again. The DV-Instructions tell you anything about required bit-rate (something like color depth), size and position of your head. I believe they even have a photo check on their site, but I'm not sure if this tool measures the right position. For home use, Microsoft Photo Editor or better Photoshop are nice tools to resize resolution or decrease file size in almost any way you want. I am willing to help people on here with their pictures, but if it becomes a daily job I will quit!

Nou, ik doe voor de 4de keer mee, hopelijk wel raak deze keer    Wellicht dat er dit jaar wat minder mensen inschrijven ivm de kredietcrisis?

Oh ja, das balen, ze vallen inderdaad onder europa De spreiding van de 50.000 greencards gaat per werelddeel toch en niet op basis van het aantal aanmeldingen per land?

Inderdaad per werelddeel. En Rusland is inderdaad Europa voor de Loterij. Dat zullen dus pakken meer inschrijvingen zijn dit jaar voor het wereddeel Europa. Pakken minder kans voor ons dus ook

Probleem opgelost... Foto was net 242 kb waarmee die te groot is om te controleren. Alles werkt nu dus weer zoals het moet!

Pieter, jij gaat toch sowieso in Amerika wonen omdat je met een Amerikaanse gaat trouwen? Waarom doe je dan mee aan de lotery? (weer een kans minder voor mensen zonder Amerikaanse partner........)

Klopt Jez... Deze keer heb ik het ook niet voor mezelf ingevuld maar voor iemand anders! Zelf zit ik in de K-1 procedure, alleen hoop ik wel dat deze op tijd rond komt.

Ik zit met een vraagje hoe zit het eigenlijk met wat ik hier onder gecopieerd heb?
Ik woon nu in Spanje maar ben van zin tegen volgend jaar naar een ander stad te verhuizen hier.
Kan ik eventueel beter het adres van mijn moeder in Belgie zetten, of moet ik het adres zetten waar ik nu op het moment woon?
En waar moet ik dan wat zetten, wat willen ze zeggen met "in care of" en "address line 1" en "2" enz
